Constantia Vineyards is a charming spot just off the beaten path, perfect for those who want to escape the overly crowded touristy areas. Walking in, I was greeted warmly, but that friendly vibe felt a bit hit-or-miss depending on the day.
While the wines were genuinely delightful, one definitely had the cork experience—talk about a twist! And sadly, the winemaker couldn’t bother to say hello, which kind of felt like a grape disappointment.

The Hike
So, I recently tackled Lion’s Head again, and let me tell you, the views were out of this world!
If you’re not an experienced hiker, I wouldn’t recommend starting here—it can be pretty tough as you climb to the peak.
With ladders and some slippery spots, it’s an adventure waiting to test your limits.
Best Time to Go
For a view that will make you feel like you’re on top of the world, I suggest catching the sunrise or sunset.
Trust me, views during those times are just breathtaking and a lot cooler than midday sunburn!
Plus, there are plenty of benches to catch your breath (or your snack). Who doesn’t love a snack break?
Safety in Numbers
Hiking alone? Not the best idea! Stick with a group for that extra bit of safety.
The trail can get tricky, and let’s face it, you want someone to share the views (and your emergency snacks) with.

Woodstock Exchange, Albert Rd, Woodstock, Cape Town, 7915, South Africa Open in Google Maps Photo Credit to Lena Heine
Walking through Woodstock Street Art felt like wandering into a colorful maze filled with bold murals. The allure of vibrant street art was evident, but a lingering unease kept me on my toes. Was it the coolest street art, or was my gut just trying to tell me to keep my eyes peeled?
The art is scattered throughout, with some stunning pieces along the Cat and Mouse walking route. Just look for the cat and mouse signs on the pavement! I recommend heading out in the morning and maybe even snagging a guide. Safety in numbers is key—nobody wants to play detective in a not-so-friendly environment!
Having said that, there are nice shops and delightful eateries that create a pleasant atmosphere. I enjoyed my time, but let’s just say—don’t be surprised when those pictures on Instagram look prettier than the real thing!
